Connecting your distributor catalogs and custom products helps streamline quoting by giving your team quick access to product information, pricing, and apparel options directly inside Printavo. This article walks through how to connect supported supplier catalogs, manage pricing settings, and add custom products so your shop can build quotes faster and more consistently.
Don't see a catalog you use? You can upload custom products individually or in bulk under My Account > Custom Products.
In this section, we will cover:
- Account-based pricing for S&S
- Pricing Definitions
- How to add your Custom Products into Printavo
- To add/delete single products from your custom product list
- Updating product pricing
Account-based pricing for S&S
To log in to your S&S account head to My Account via the profile icon in the top right and scroll down to Product Catalogs and enter your API key and account number from S&S. When logged in you will be able to pull the Net Pricing for your account, based on the pricing definitions below. This will differ from the Net Pricing available via the global catalog, the price pulled when your catalog is not connected, if you have credit-based pricing setup with S&S.
Account-based pricing for Product Catalogs (in limited Beta)
Note: This feature is in development and is not yet available to all customers. This feature is also subject to change. We will update this article to reflect the release version when it is ready.
The below information is to serve any customers who are currently enrolled in the limited Beta. Unfortunately, we are unable to add any more customers to the Beta.
To enable your custom pricing for a Global Catalog, simply navigate to My Account > Product Catalogs. There, you will see the option to either select Global Pricing or Custom Pricing.
If you select Custom Pricing, you'll see 2 boxes in order to enter your Username and Password for the account credentials you have for any of the 3 catalogs. These will be the credentials you created for those specific catalogs.
The above image shows the difference between successfully connecting your account and if the credentials entered are incorrect.
After successfully connecting to a catalog, the username remains visible so shops can tell what account is connected to each catalog. A status of “Connected” is displayed, along with a “Disconnect” button that allows you to sign out of the catalog account you previously connected. When disconnecting from an account, the catalog will connect to the Global account by default. Shops can stop pulling pricing from a catalog by unchecking the catalog’s checkbox.
When you're connected to a global catalog using your custom credentials, switching to a global catalog for that supplier will provide a confirmation box to appear alerting you that switching to the global catalog will disconnect your customer credentials. To proceed, you will need to confirm by clicking “Switch to global” in the prompt, and saving the page.
*Note: Disconnecting an account and switching to the global catalog both require the user to click the “Save” button to complete the action.
**Note: In S&S, the global catalog uses cash-based pricing.
Pricing Definitions
- Net Pricing is the global non-negotiated price through the supplier. This price is pulled when Global pricing is selected or when your account is connected to a supplier and there is no negotiated price or sale price available.
- Customer Pricing is the negotiated pricing that a shop has with the supplier. This price is pulled, if present, when custom pricing is selected. If a Sale price is present and lower than the negotiated rate, then the supplier gives us the Sale price.
- List Pricing is the MSRP and is always the highest price. We do not pull this price into Printavo.
How to add your Custom Products into Printavo
- Export the list of your current products as a CSV or XLS format.
- Download this template file and fill it out with your products in Spreadsheet.
- Make sure NOT to touch the first row.
- Convert the file into a UTF 8 and save it to your computer.
- Upload the completed CSV file.
Note: T-shirt sizes need to be in the format of "S", "M", "L", etc.
To add/delete single products from your custom product list
- Head to My Account > Custom Products
- From here, you can add/edit/delete single products
Updating product pricing
When uploading an updated product spreadsheet such as price updates to garments, as long as all the other info is the same and only the price is different, the products won't be duplicated and only their prices will be updated.
