Welcome to Printavo's automation suite!
While your current workflow will not be impacted when we migrate your account to function with our new automations, we do want to show you your new capabilities!
In this article, we will cover what feature aspects have changed and how that helps you. Specirically, we'll be looking at:
- Where to find new automations
- The elimination of separate Status Change Notifications
- Unrestricted trigger/action combinations
- Combining payment requests and approvals with messaging
- Addition of CC and BCC fields for your automated messaging
- Automation naming, labeling, ordering, and filtering

Where to find automations
To access your automations, you'll still head to My Account > Automation. This will take you to your automations dashboard where you can build, organize, filter, and edit your automations.
The elimination of separate Status Change Notifications
Once your account version has been upgraded with the new automation suite, you'll notice you no longer have Status Change Notifications under your My Account section. The reason for this is that Status Change Notifications were automatic communications, so you'll still be able to notify your customers when statuses have changed, but the functionality for that will now live under My Account > Automation with all of the other automation options.
Unrestricted trigger/action combinations
In the new automation suite, Printavo users will no longer be limited to the preset automation triggers and actions that Printavo had provided. You will now be able to combine any trigger with any action. This means that one trigger can set off multiple actions (e.g., when a quote is approved, Printvo can change the job's status, request payment, and assign a task list).
Available triggers include:
- If [A Requested Approval] is approved...
- If a quote/invoice is paid in full with no payment terms...
- If status changed to...
Available actions include:
- Send an email and/or text message to [desired recipient(s)].*
- Apply the ___ preset task list.
- Request payment for [X]% amount.**
- Includes option to email and/or text the request to the recipient(s)*
- Request [Approval Type] approval.
- Includes option to email and/or text the approval to the recipient(s)*
- Change status to [desired status].
- Send a text message to [desired recipient(s)].

Combining payment requests and approvals with messaging
Previously, sending a payment request* or an approval request to the customer would require a separate task or action if you wanted to email and/or text** your desired recipient(s). Now, when you request an approval or a payment, you have the ability to simultaneously send out an email and/or a text message to your desired recipient(s).

Addition of CC and BCC fields for your automated messaging
Now, when you decide to message someone using an automatic message in Printavo, you can automatically choose to CC or BCC additional recipients. Tip: Use our shortcodes to dynamically customize your messages, subject lines, and recipients (e.g., adding [invoice-owner-email-address] in the CC field will automatically email the job's owner as a CC, or writing [customer-first-name] will automatically add the customer's first name (as it appears on their customer profile) to your message).
Automation naming, labeling, ordering, and filtering
We want to help you stay organized, so Printavo users now have the ability to name, label, sequentially order, and filter their automations!
